NBA News: Dwight Howard Drops Truth Bomb on Retirement Plans
Ron Chenoy-USA TODAY Sports

NBA news: It has been two long years since we saw Dwight Howard play in the NBA. After his third stint with the Los Angeles Lakers during the 2021-22 season, the former Most Valuable Player winner took his talents abroad to continue his career.

Despite his absence from the NBA, however, Howard has remained relevant among fans. The 38-year-old has always been vocal about wanting to return to the league but now that he doesn’t seem any closer to a comeback, the 6-foot-10 big man is already seriously contemplating retirement.

NBA News: Dwight Howard Still Weighing His Options

In a recent appearance on The OGs Show  podcast with Mike Miller and Goran Dragic, Howard admitted that he’s currently “on the fence” about whether or not it’s time for him to hang up his laces:

Howard remains adamant that he still has some basketball left in him and that he is still fully capable of helping any team out there. At the same time, however, the rise of the “young bulls” in the league has had the veteran questioning his ability to keep up the pace with these up-and-comers.

At this point, it feels like Howard is planning to make another run at a potential NBA comeback this coming season. Whether or not any team out there sees any value in adding them to their roster will likely obviously have a significant impact on his retirement plans.

The sad reality is, however, that we all may have already seen Howard play his final game in the NBA.
